Deutsch Materials

For this project, I wanted to try some slightly complex materials. I found that the paintings by Ludwig Deutsch contain lots of really interesting patterns for textures. I chose a painting of a simple scene to try to recreate, and incorporate a few materials from other paintings of his.

I'm fairly happy with the end result. Although, I feel that the materials I created don't quite capture the highly detailed and textured sense that one gets when observing a Deutsch painting. While I feel I did well and created a good project, I still feel far from the skill of a master artist!

The materials were made entirely in Substance Designer, some were applied in Substance Painter, and the scene was built inside of Blender. The detailed images of the materials were taken in Marmoset Toolbag.
