Imperial Palace

For this project, I wanted to take a concept with detailed materials and recreate it as a 3D environment. I fell in love with Johanna Rupprecht's (https://www.artstation.com/lyraina) concept of an Emperor's Palace Hall (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/42X6Y). I experienced and overcame some difficulties with this project, and am glad to say that I am extremely happy with the finished piece! I look forward to creating more pieces like this, learning more, and quickening my workflow!

Substance Designer materials I made including marble, basalt stone, jade, hammered metal, gold foil, a stained glass window design, plaster, and blue dyed wood. These make up the bulk of the material "library" that I then used in Substance Painter.

Renders of most of the objects used in the scene. They were modeled in Maya and their material sets were put together in Substance Painter using the materials I made in Substance Designer.
