Reusable Portfolio Assets

These 3D art projects (worked on live at twitch.tv/shanny947) were made as reusable assets for future portfolio projects.
I had not made plants or a character before in my 3D experience, so this was my first time making both! I decided to jump into these unfamiliar waters, as I was sick of saying 'no' to myself on good portfolio ideas, just because I hadn't done character or plants before.

The plants are meant to be semi-low-poly. They are not meant to be efficient enough to be used in live game environments, but efficient enough to be used many times within a portfolio scene. I am proud of how the plants turn out, even if they aren't perfect for every use. In the future, I look forward to learning about making plants that are both of high visual quality, as well as engine efficient. The modeling and UV'ing of the plants are done in Blender and the color maps for the materials were done in Photoshop.

I wanted to create a basic female character, that could be poseable and somewhat customizable for use in my future portfolio projects. It also functioned as some very good Zbrush sculpting practice! I am extremely happy with how the character turned out as it was my first ever attempt at 3D character creation. Her face is a bit off, and I should have modeled her arms in a T-pose, rather than the off A-pose I sculpted her in. She certainly isn't perfect, but I learned a lot about character creation, and now know where I can make improvements to my process next time! So far, I have used her in my "Lady in Light" project, and I look forward to using her in future portfolio projects, including making use of her differing skin tones, and making 3D clothes for her!
This project was created using Zbrush, Blender, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine.
